What does third party liability cover?

Third party liability covers the potential costs arising from your pet's actions that may cause bodily injury or property damage to others. Here's what is included:

  • Pet Insurance (MSIG):
    • Coverage: Accidental physical injury to third parties or damage to their property caused by your pet.
    • Legal Costs: Includes all legal costs and expenses incurred with MSIG's written consent for the defense and settlement of any claims you are legally liable for.
    • Deductible: There is a deductible of RM500 for the Basic Plan and RM1,000 for the Plus & Champion Plans. This deductible is the portion of the claim amount you are responsible for.
    • Example: If your cat, Comel, causes an incident resulting in RM10,000 in medical and legal fees, and your policy has a RM1,000 deductible, the claim payment would be RM10,000 minus RM1,000, totaling RM9,000.
    • Process: Deductibles apply on a per claim submitted basis. If you receive a writ, summon, or claim, inform Oyen immediately without responding to the claimant.
  • Oyen Takaful Kucing (Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Berhad):
