As a pet owner, you might be wondering: Are pets allowed in condos in Malaysia? Well, it depends on where you stay.
According to the Strata Management (Maintenance & Management) Regulations 2015, pets are legally allowed in high-rise buildings such as condominiums and apartments in Malaysia. This is given that the pets do not cause any annoyance, nuisance or pose any health risks to other residents.
Pets also have to comply with state and local authority rules and regulations. For example, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) permits pets but limits the number to 1 pet per unit and only specific pet breeds are allowed. Other councils such as Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) generally prohibit pets in high-rise buildings.
So, before you move in with your pets to any condo, be sure to check with the local council and condo management whether pets are allowed or not.
