What are the criteria for my pet to be eligible for insurance or Oyen Takaful Kucing?

To ensure your pet is eligible for coverage under either Oyen Pet Insurance or Oyen Takaful Kucing, there are specific criteria that must be met:

  • Pet Insurance Eligibility:
    • Pet Type: Cats and Dogs only.
    • Pet's Age: Must be between 12 weeks and 10 years old at the start date of your insurance coverage.
    • Pet's Health Conditions: Must be free from injury or physical disability at the start date of your insurance.
    • Location: Must be under your care or your family in Malaysia at all times. Unfortunately, stray cats that don't live with you cannot be insured.
    • Breeds (for dogs): Must be duly licensed and not fall under banned or restricted breeds as prescribed by the Government or Public or Local Authority.
    • Tagging (for dogs): Must be microchipped.
    • Job: Must not be a working dog (i.e., a pet that performs practical tasks rather than being a companion).
  • Oyen Takaful Kucing Eligibility:
    • Pet Type: Cats only.
    • Pet's Age: Must be between 12 weeks and 10 years old at the start date of your certificate's coverage.
    • Pet's Health Conditions: Must be free from injury or physical disability at the start date of your certificate.
    • Vaccination: Must have received core vaccinations according to the recommendations of a qualified veterinarian in Malaysia.
    • Location: Must be under your care or your family's care in Malaysia at all times, meaning stray cats that don't live with you cannot be covered.
    • Job: Must not be a working cat (i.e., a pet that performs practical tasks rather than being a companion).
